OMS Colorado update_Breckenridge

Joey Okesson airs off a rock in Breck's Horseshoe Bowl

Well, we are getting really really lucky here and experienced another super powder in Colorado, this time at Breckenridge.  It had snowed a little at our condo in Keystone the night before but we were pleasantly surprised to see a nice blanket of snow when we arrived in Breck.  Each lift ride that brought us higher up the mountain,  the snow got deeper in deeper. So, we decided to head up the Rocky Mountain Super Chair to the T-bar with the goal of getting some fresh tracks on Pika and the Horseshoe Bowl.  The T-bar ride up was pretty brutal with high gusts and cold temps but it quickly became apparent that there was a ton of untouched pow for the OMS'er to hit.  So, we strapped in and headed into the Pika woods and it was unbelievable!!  There was at least 16-18" of light pow and in wind-blown spots, waist deep, no joke and the kids were stoked!! So, we decided to hit the t-bar and Horseshoe bowl a couple more times and Joey Okesson dropped a 10" rock drop into pow in the bowl which was very cool to watch.

The rest of the day was spent exploring Breck and some standout runs with insane snow that all enjoyed were the woods off from Chair 6 with at least 2' of snow, Imperial Bowl, and Contest Bowl.  There was no park riding today, just the beauty of surfing powder at it's finest.  OMS snowboarders are lucky!!
