OMS Moose Huntin' Camp

It’s Monday December 12th and we’re in Sunday River for the week.  We headed out early this morning to shred Moose country for the week and the crew consists of Bryce Langille, Casey Savage, Taylor Spaulding, and John Garoutte. Most the guys had never traveled through upstate New Hampshire and were all very impressed by the vast landscape of the White Mountains and were even more amazed at the massiveness of the East’s highest peak, Mount Washington.

We arrived at Sunday River at 10am and were stoked to see that the Mountain had 20 trails open and 5 that went top to bottom, which equated to some nice long cruisers to warm up the early season legs.  For those of you who haven’t been to Sunday River, it’s about as close in similarity as you can get to the mountains of the Rockies and to the rest of the hills west of the Great Divide.  The top of Sunday River consists of mainly fur trees and the rocky landscape is very similar to that of the West.  With that said, we shredded hard and found numerous booters randomly located all over the place.  At the end of the day, we came across a trail with a slew of man-made whalebacks and wrapped up the day with some hilarious switch runs that consisted of switch stales and tails, noses and methods= super fun!

Tacos, pooltime and homework are the agenda tonight and we’ll have some rider entries, snow pics, and a couple mini-edits to come, so stay tuned.
