The OMS 2012/2013 school year is underway and the school
looks great thanks a ton of cosmetic work done by the staff here over the
summer. On the snowboard front,
OMS snowboarders Taylor Spaulding and Casey Savage are at OMS and are ready to
charge it this season. Jerry
Tucker and Matt Fortuna will be splitting the assistant coach duties and Luke
Bonang is back in his third year as head coach. There is a ton to look forward to this season as we have
added a new GoPro (the III) and a new school camera (Canon Rebel) to the
mix. These tools will help keep
our blog updated with some fresh visuals throughout the season so stay tuned. We have also booked our first trip of
the season and the crew will be headed to Mammoth Mountain Resort in the high
California Sierras come December.
Mammoth is renowned for it’s insane parks and awesome terrain so
needless to say, the team is very stoked for the trip. With that said, stay
up-to-date on our blog and follow our team through the winter 2012/2013 season
as it will be a busy one!

OMS Snowboarding: Know Your History // Jamie Lynn
OMS Snowboarders are dedicated and passionate about the Sport, so therefore Jerry and I have put it upon our athletes to know a little bit more about the history of snowboarding and on the old school shredders who paved the way. We have picked one OG snowboarder and have asked each OMS snowboarder to do some research and gain a little more historical knowledge on the legends of snowboarding. Second up in the second round of the Know Your History research comes Jamie Lynn, written OMS Snowboarder Jack Valentine.
On October 26th of 1973, a legend by the name of Jamie Lynn was born in Vancouver, WA. Lynn was one of the top shredders of his time. He shredded the mountains of Washington in deep pow and significant cliffs throwing down huge grabs back in his day. Jamie Lynn was one of the first riders to bring the skate influence to snowboarding. Jamie rode for Lib-Tech, Vans, and Dragon. Today he lives in Seattle and is an artist for Lib-Tech snowboards and plays in a band called Kandi Coded that tours regularly. He has a Vans boot pro model that is on the market today. Lynn also is a spokesperson for the Snowboard Outreach Society witch is a group that brings kids from the city’s out to snowboard and experience the mountains. Jaime Lynn is a very accomplished man who is still an idol to many modern day shredders and remains a living legend.
